Underwater concreting is a critical concreting process performed for offshore construction. It involves the process of carefully placing fresh concrete underwater. As construction in water results in many difficulties, the start to end of an underwater construction requires special care, supervision and planning. For example, the construction of the foundation and piles to support the bridge crossing a river, or a dock construction.
Diving projects have become a visual exercise for clients who expect to see what’s going on underwater. Fortunately, modern video and digital photo equipment is compact and provides sharp images which can be transferred to the client on site or easily edited on the camera or computer. Clients can view live footage of what is in the water either via ROV or diver.
ROV surveys provide an economical means of inspecting underwater structures, pipes, tanks etc sometimes in areas that divers can’t access. Abyss often conducts a preliminary inspection of a proposed diving job site to ascertain required assets and equipment to do the work.
